...I just watched the first lot of slides and I have to admit, I am more than a little bit freaked out.

I just watched the progression of the obesity trends for North America from 1988 (the year I was born) through to 2005 and I honestly felt nauseous watching it. In less than twenty years the stats have had to grow from 10-14% all the way up to equal to or more than 30%. That? Is fucking scary people.

Now I know Australia isn't exactly some great bastion of health - we're just as bad if not worse than the US. But honestly, with the rate that obesity levels are rising globally? In ten years time I would not be surprised to see the world sitting at an 80 or 90% obesity/overweight rate instead of 70%ish which is about where we are now.

Believe it or not, I've actually had people tell me that rising obesity rates are a good thing for my industry because it means there'll be more people for me to train in the gym and get all fit and healthy. I'm sorry but that is a monstrous thing to say. I would rather be out of a job, knowing that the world is a healthier place than working in the gym every day, not even sure if what I'm doing is really going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things.

I really don't meant to sound all holier-than-thou or anything )and believe me that's not my intention) but I implore you, each and every one of you, please, for your own sake, go out and take a walk once in a while. Ride a bike. Eat a piece of fruit instead of half a packet of biscuits. I'd honestly feel so much better knowing that there are still people out there who are doing their best to avoid becoming a part of this epidemic because it honestly freaks me the hell out.

ha ha ha well my mum was really good I must say I mean sure I didn't eat much from the age of 11 to about the age of 20 heh, I still eat inconsistently which is baddddd but when i was younger my diet was impeccable, I mean I didn't eat iced cream till I was 7 and when I did I hated it, wanted frozen yogurt instead, I am getting back into better eating habbits though, probably the best thing about being a vegetarian when out I almost always have to eat really healthy stuff, though there is fuck all out there that is healthy unless you find a vegetarian cafe or fucking make it yourself anyway, it's disgraceful.
