So I don't know how many of you are aware of the flooding that's been happening over in the north-east of Australia but pretty much half of Queensland is currently underwater.

My best friend who lives in Brisbane is currently one suburb away from being evacuated but is holed up with all of her pets because she can't leave them and she can't take them with her to a rescue centre. I also just found out that the guys in Queensland who we call up for technical support at work (and various other stuff) have been evacuated from the Brisbane CBD which means my job has just been made like, ten times harder.

But it's nowhere near as hard as what these poor sods are going through in Queensland which is why I'm offering myself up as a writer for the floor relief fic fundraiser over at waltzmatildah's journal.

So please, please guys - go and bid, or offer yourself as a writer if you write fic. This whole thing is such a huge blow - they've barely recovered from the last bad floods they had and it's even closer to my heart being as my best mate is currently stuck right in the middle of it, as is her mum.

I've been watching the news and wondering how you're holding up. I was relieved that the flooding was on the other side of the country from you, but no doubt it hits too close to home. :( I hope your friend is okay.

Yeah it's pretty much the complete opposite end othe country :P it's mainly because my best mate is over there and that scares the bejeesus out of me.

Huh, that's interesting about David. There has been lots of speculation and rumours about him having a role in Rings but nothing recently. Thanks for the link Joey!

Don't worry, she's totally fine mate. You know Blair, she went out and bought eggs at the eleventh hour just so she could make cake and have it with tea as she sat on the deck of the place she's living and watched the water rise :P

And then she went down to Southbank to hlep clean up and stepped onto a piece of floating debris to get some good photographic shots. Crazy woman. She's totally fine though, just as madcap as ever. She's on facebook under the name Blairtown Suarez if you're interested in attacking her and she has a few livejournal accounts, one of which she updates once in a blue moon if you're lucky :P

Heh. Yeah. I was obsessively checking facebook during the worst of it to make sure she and hers were all okay over there :P
