This is wonderful. Even if I'm not quite sure what just happened...

Here's one of my favorite lines:

His stomach felt like it had dropped right out of the bottom of him, plummeting down to the basement level where he so desperately wanted to be.

Yeah, my stomach dropped too! And I like how you show him trying to deal with his new human qualities:

...the Doctor was really struggling to stop himself from going into a full blown panic. Both his adrenal and his sweat glands were working overtime and he couldn’t do anything much to control them. Fight or flight was a human trait that he still hadn’t mastered control over.

The Doctor is completely IC here, and reading it chilled me almost as much as the original episode, which is saying a lot.
