What you say would be true if it was the obstacle they had to overcome and the show had given them a chance to grow past that and develop a relationship, but by killing Charlie the show cut them off at the knees. That growth never happened, so they created a great couple with a complex story and then just killed it before it got anywhere. Darlton suck. Sapph rules.
