It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 gay boys who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

RIP Tyler Clementi, Seth Walsh (top)
RIP Justin Aaberg, Raymond Chase (middle)
RIP Asher Brown and Billy Lucas. (bottom)

REBLOG to spread a message of love, unity and peace.

Also, I'm considering taking part in the latest [profile] then_theres_us challenge where you write a sequel of one of your pre-existing fics or from an alternate POV and just wanted to put it to my flist...any suggestions? Requests?

I also have fic recs coming up (the cause of my mood) so be prepared.

Take It Back Ten/Rose set during TIP/TSP - this fic has become my new canon for this episode. I've always kind of figured that if they became involved romantically it would've been around this time in the season and it's been ficced a million times a million different ways but this is just so exquisitely, perfectly drawn. I believe in the events of this fic. It's sad, it's funny, it made my heart ache in the best kind of way and to be honest I just kind of adored it from start to finish. Read it. You know you want to.

The Final Chapter an Eleven/Rose fic that absolutely has the monopoly on the upper spectrum of angst. I was actually sobbing as I read this, it's just so. Sad. It opens with a scene in a graveyard, ends with a wedding and not only made me cry - it also made me laugh (sometimes in a brokenhearted kind of way admittedly) and kind of want to hug my laptop. Don't read it if you don't like character death stuff but seriously? If you can hack it, read it. It's an amazing piece and Eleven's last line (and the gesture accompanying it) is so pitch perfect that I had a little bit of a flail over it even as I was crying. I cannot sing its praises highly enough, honestly, there are no words for how gorgeously sad this is.

Gotta love the catharsis! Anyway, latest news on the Hobbit movie is that it is DEFINITELY being directed by Peter Jackson which makes me insanely happy. Now if they can only get it done before we and all of the actors die of old age...
