The Darlton line was kinda inspired by Dom saying how Darlton told him at the start that Charlie was gonna be one of the big main characters of Lost (along with Jack and Kate). Of course they didn't keep their promise to Dom/Charlie so this was his chance to go back to the beginning and tell Darlton where to shove it.
