Beautiful piece. I love how the four sections are linked thematically. Charlie and Claire always had the most imaginitive and thoughtful ideas. This fic was a lovely tribute to their cute creativity!
The CC talk after letting the bird go was heart wrenching. When I first watched 'Par Avion' I considered it such a sweet hopeful moment and now it is just too sad for words, Claire trying to support Charlie when he really hasn't got a chance. The words "We are alive. Please don't give up on us" seem very hollow now (unless our CharlieLives! theories are correct).
Man, I didn't want Hurley to scatch Charlie's name off either. I really hate looking at sites like Lostpedia and LVI and seeing that Charlie's name is now shaded black. It's just a horrible feeling.
I really liked Claire's idea that they should also record HOW the person died. One of the few things that is important to me now is I want Desmond to tell everyone exactly how Charlie died - including a confession about the flashes so all the Lostees are aware that Charlie was knowingly sacrificing his life for their rescue. They ought to know the truth. It would be an insult to Charlie's memory if that wasn't revealled.
