What a nice little fic. I like how you took just a few lines from the show and spun a whole background to fit it. It worked perfectly and makes sense with Claire's character and her inability to trust. Even her promises are tentative and halfhearted, but she's so afraid of being abandoned that she holds others to their word. Excellent insight.
